Lip Blush

Lip blush tattoos, also known as lip blushing or lip tint tattooing, are a type of semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing procedure designed to enhance the natural color and shape of the lips. The procedure involves depositing pigments into the lips using a fine needle. The goal is to create a subtle, natural-looking tint that can give the lips a fuller and more defined appearance.

Lip blush tattoos are popular among those looking for a long-lasting way to enhance their natural lip color and shape without the daily upkeep of makeup.

The procedure can correct asymmetry, add definition, and give the appearance of fuller lips without the need for fillers. It can also reduce the need for daily lipstick application. Regular touch-ups, typically every year, are recommended to maintain the desired appearance and increase the longevity of your lip tattooing.

LIP LINE AND BLEND

Ideal for creating fuller, more defined lips, this procedure is recommended for anyone wanting their lip line corrected or enhanced. The perfect treatment for lips that have been damaged from cold sores, the sun, or surgery.

FULL LIPS

This clever technique means you can reinstate your natural lip colour or something stronger, and never have to wear lipstick again. Again perfect for lips damaged by coldsores, overexposure to the sun or surgery. Never lose your lipstick on your glass or your coffee cup!

Full lip includes a complimentary adjustment/checkup appointment 6-8 weeks later.

FAQ’s

  • Lip Blush is a form of semipermanent tattoo that is done to correct asymmetry, enhance the natural shape and add a pop of colour to your lips. The colour is always vibrant & intense for the first few days directly after the session, and this will heal to be up to 50% lighter after 1 week. A second session, known as the touch-up, is recommended at 6-8 weeks to perfect any areas that might not have healed well.

  • This information is provided to ensure that there is minimal bleeding during the tattooing procedure. Failure to follow the below instructions can result in poor healed results. Bleeding during the procedure forces the pigment to be pushed out of the skin.

Do not consume any caffeine or alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment. This includes coffee, energy drinks, pre-workout and tea.

Do not take fish oils for a week before your treatment.

Caffeine, alcohol & fish oils act as a blood thinner, causing you to potentially bleed during the process. This will stop the cosmetic tattoo pigment from holding in the skin during the tattoo process!

You should be using a lip scrub and lip balm every day for ONE WEEK leading up to your appointment.

You should also be using an ultra-hydrating & moisturising lip balm to get those lips smooth & soft! This allows the pigment to go into the skin easily, as well as the numbing cream to be effective.

If you suffer from cold sores you will need to take anti-viral tablets 1 week before and after the appointment. This is to stop the risk of infection! A cosmetic lip tattoo will trigger an outbreak if you do suffer from cold sores, so it is highly recommended that you take these tablets!

You won't be able to heavily exercise (cause the face to sweat), use a sauna, swim or tan for ONE week. Moderate exercise is fine.

Facials & skin peels should be avoided for one week pre & post tattooing.

Lip filler should be done 1 month before or 2 months after your lip blush appointment.

You may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or before your menstrual cycle.

  • Following the aftercare instructions is extremely important in order to ensure good retention of colour during the healing process. Aftercare accounts for over 60% of the healed results.

Apply any medicated cream or healing balm as recommended by your technician. The cream should be applied for up to 7 days. Do not let the lips dry out - they should always have some form of aftercare balm or healing balm on at ALL TIMES! Aftercare cream can be purchased at your appointment.

Avoid getting the area wet for up to 7 days, which includes keeping your face dry during a shower. Use a damp face cloth or face wipe to clean your face.

Use a damp cotton pad to gently wipe the area for the first day. This will reduce the build up of lymph fluid as the lips heal and reduce the chances of scabbing.

Don’t put makeup on your lips for at least 10 days. This is because the skin is still healing. Applying makeup to the lips will increase the chance of infection.

Don’t pick at scabs, tug, or itch the eyebrow area. Again, this will increase the chance of infection and possibly cause skin damage and scarring.

Avoid saunas, swimming, and excessive sweating until the area is completely healed, which may take up to two weeks.

Drink from a straw! You want to keep the lips dry!

Do not eat spicy foods! Ouch…

Avoid kissing while the lips are healing! SORRY!

Long Term Aftercare: Wear lip balm that has at least SPF 15+ in it!

Sun exposure over a prolonged period of time will fade the tattoo.

Do not use strong chemical acids/ peels (salicylic, glycolic, lactic acids), IPL or laser on the healed cosmetic tattoo, as these will fade the tattoo over time.

  • Healing time: 5 - 7 days

Your lips will appear a lot darker and intense than what they will look like once healed. You need to trust the healing process! Over the first few days they will be at their darkest. They might scab and flake, this is completely normal. While they heal, this will fade to reveal a much lighter colour. The lips tend to fade around 70-80%!

Please keep in mind that everyone’s skin will heal differently!

The true colour of the tattoo will not be revealed until after 6 weeks.

The touch up is then completed at 6-8 weeks to perfect any areas that need some extra attention, as well as add more colour if needed!
